About Travelers

One disease probably all human beings suffer from is addiction. Some cases can be severe. But what about those who have that addiction for adventure? A drug which they can’t live without.

How to know if you are addicted to adventure?

The symptoms are easy to detect:

  1. Difficulty to stay in any particular place for long period of time.
  2. Allergic to the same common landscapes
  3. Immediate boost of energy when shown exotic landscapes.

Is it the fear of settling down which makes it difficult to stay any particular places for a stretched amount of time? No. It’s that love for the drugs: travelling and adventure. Remaining too long in any place can cause severe withdrawal symptoms as well as boredom.

Einstein maybe was wrong when he said that gravity was not the reason people fall in love. What about the gravity associated with amazing places around the world?

Don’t it attract these perpetual wanderers driven mainly by youth, inquisitiveness and thirst for picturesque paysages?

There is with any doubt a huge gravity, which just like a black hole in the middle of nowhere in outer space attracts everything with a mass.

Just like the fact that anything will ever come out of a black hole, there are possible side effects to be a wanderlust.

The most common side effect of being adventure addicted is that the addicts won’t rest until having seen or heard it all.

Will Ferrell once said:

When I was a kid, ‘Land of the Lost’ was my favorite show, just because it was – in the landscape of Saturday morning cartoons – it was so unique. It was a live-action show and kids were in it, these creatures, these Sleestaks and dinosaurs. Every week was a different adventure. I couldn’t wait. I loved it so much.

Adventure is maybe something written in the human gene which slowly disappears with time. Just like kittens just blessed with the ability to walk like to explore the environment around them, so do human beings of the most tender ages.

For some, maturity slowly cures this itch while for some, their envy for adventure only grows with time.

Some people even pushed it further.

Buzz, the second man to walk on the moon once said:

By refocusing our space program on Mars for America’s future, we can restore the sense of wonder and adventure in space exploration that we knew in the summer of 1969. We won the moon race; now it’s time for us to live and work on Mars, first on its moons and then on its surface.

The human quench for exploration and adventure is unquenchable.

The human race always had this desire to explore the unexplored. The unknown. Landscapes which are not familiar to his.

The fact human conquered the Sahara, the Mariana trench, the Antarctica, the Everest, Mount Kilimanjaro and the list can go on. These environments just prove once again that when there is that hunger and thirst for adventures, fighting back is only futile.

In doing so, we discover things unimaginable. Every kind of birds, plants, insects, civilization etc…

Things that make you discover yourself, makes you more mature, and changes you in irreversible ways.

Only those who spent considerable time quenching this thirst will understand.
